Buffalo Blue Cheese Ball Recipe

You’ve probably noticed by now that my boy Logan is all about the sports. Checking scores and brackets daily. Watching as many games as he can get his hands on.

Its pretty funny to watch this transformation in him going from a kid who didn’t really even have the patience to sit through an entire game to the kid who wants to have game day parties and constantly rattles off stats like you wouldn’t believe.

I think that kid must dream in sports, because it seems like it is on his mind 24/7.

With March Madness underway, you might be thinking of getting together with some friends to watch one of the games this weekend. When you’re having a group of friends, or even just gathering as a family, over to watch sports you’ll want to keep any snacks simple so you can focus on the game.

Buffalo Blue Cheese Ball

No need to go overboard, just a few things to much on while enjoying the game works best. This Buffalo Blue Cheese Ball is perfect for game day snacking. It is loaded with cream cheese, blue cheese, green onion, celery, red bell pepper, hot sauce, walnuts, and shredded chicken.

The ingredients are all rolled into a ball, thus the name Buffalo Blue Cheese Ball, and rolled in more walnuts. I like Fisher Nuts best in this recipe because their nuts are all preservative-free, so I know I’m getting the quality that I want.

Serve this Buffalo Blue Cheese Ball with your favorite crackers or pretzels for scooping. Celery sticks also taste great with this!

Buffalo Blue Cheese Ball

Yield: serves 8 - 10

This Buffalo Blue Cheese Ball features hot sauce, shredded chicken, celery, green onion, blue cheese, and chopped walnuts. A twist on the traditional cheese ball recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 16 ounces Cream Cheese, softened
  • 2 - 3 tablespoons Hot Sauce, according to your heat preferences
  • 2/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon Blue Cheese Crumbles
  • 1 cup Shredded or finely chopped Chicken
  • 1/3 cup Celery, diced
  • 1/4 cup Red Bell Pepper, diced
  • 1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon Green Onions, sliced
  • 1 cup Fisher Walnuts finely chopped

Directions:

In a medium sized mixing bowl, add the cream cheese and hot sauce. Beat with a hand mixer until combined and smooth.

Using a spatula or wooden spoon, stir in 2/3 cup blue cheese, chicken, celery, red bell pepper, 1/3 cup green onions, and 1/4 cup Fisher Walnuts into the cream cheese mixture until well combined.

Shape the cheese mixture into a large ball and roll into the remaining nuts to coat the outside. Place on a plate and allow to chill for 2 hours, or up to overnight.

Garnish with the remaining 1 tablespoon of blue cheese and 1 tablespoon of green onions. Serve with celery sticks and pretzels or crackers.

I choose to work with Fisher Nuts because it is one of the only brands of recipe nuts entirely without preservatives. I have been compensated for my time, but all opinions are my own.

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Fisher. The opinions and text are all mine.
