When I realized that Dr. Seuss’s Birthday was coming up, I knew that we had to do something to celebrate! His books are some of our most often read in our house at bedtime. Madeline is especially fond of them. She often requests Fox in Socks which still leaves me tongue tied!
Right now my favorite is There’s a Wocket in My Pocket. I’ve always been especially fond of Mr. Brown Can Moo as well. Just when I think we’ve read them all (which we really haven’t) I find another book to add to our collection.
“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.”
— Theodor Geisel

Unfortunately the craft store was all cleaned out of red candy melts due to Valentine’s day so I had to improvise with light blue melts. I think you get the idea though.

- 1 tablespoon milled flax
- 1 teaspoon honey

- Wilton #12 Tip
- Wilton #2D Tip
Instructions
For Pink Yink Ink Drink
- Put all the ingredients, in the order listed, into the jar of your blender. Cover and run on the Smoothie function (if applicable, otherwise puree on high for about a minute). Once the program is complete, turn the power off and serve.
For Cat in the Hat Marshmallow Pops
- Insert lollipop sticks into the bottom of the marshmallow. Melt the white candy melts in the microwave or on the stove top per package instructions. Using a deep cup works best for dipping. Dip the marshmallows into the melted white candy melts. Shake gently to remove excess.
- Stick the lollipops into Styrofoam or something else to hold them upright white they dry. After dry, melt the red and blue colored melts. Pour each into a small decorators squeeze bottle. Drizzle the colors on the dried white dipped marshmallows to resemble stripes from the Cat's hat. Let dry before serving.
- Note: Candy Melts and Lollipop sticks are available at many craft stores, such as Micheal's.
For Thing One and Thing Two Cupcakes
- Bake Chocolate Buttermilk Cupcakes in red cupcake liners. Prepare Vanilla Almond Buttercream without any food coloring.
- When cupcakes have completely cooled. Frost a layer of white buttercream on top of the cupcakes - I used a Wilton #12 Round tip. This will be the Things' face.
- Dye the remaining buttercream blue and pipe stars layered on top of one another in a pyramid like shape to resemble Thing One and Thing Two's crazy hair. I used a #2D Wilton tip.
- Then just cut out some small circles and write "Thing 1" and "Thing 2" with black marker. Tape to the cupcake liner.

I believe it was Americolor Sky Blue. I like Americolor gel food colorings because they don't have a nasty taste and the colors are really concentrated.

Hi, These are sooooo cute--thank you so much for sharing. Could you please tell me what type and color of food coloring did you use to make the blue--I need it to be as close to the color of the hair on Thing 1 and Thing 2. Thanks so much for your help and for sharing your wonderful talent. Blessing
