I have heard time and time again how easy it is to make homemade yogurt. We are big yogurt eaters in this house and the more I thought about it the more I wanted to give it a try.

Yogurt has many purposes in this household of adoring fans, from an ingredient in baked goods, breakfast with granola and fruit, a popular addition to smoothies (related: Raspberry Orange Smoothies), to a healthy afternoon snack, and even using yogurt as a marinade for Tandoori Chicken – there isn’t a week that goes buy where I’m not adding another large container or two to our grocery cart.

I’m pleased to report that everyone else is absolutely right – yogurt is SUPER easy to make at home. Not that I doubted it, but it was great to give it a try myself and learn how simple the process is.

And it’s really nice because you can completely control the ingredients yourself. Organic, naturally sweetened, pure, delicious yogurt. Madeline is particularly partial to a generous drizzle of honey and fresh strawberries on a bowl of yogurt for her breakfast.

But you aren’t just controlling the ingredients. You have the ability to control the consistency of your yogurt. Personally, I like it on the thicker side and now I know just how to make it that way at home every time.

This Cuisipro Donvier® Electronic Yogurt Machine will make homemade yogurt such a breeze to make. All you need to do is heat the milk, add the yogurt culture, divide the mixture between the BPA-free plastic jars. Then you add the jars to the machine, set your timer (10 1/2 hours was perfect for me), place the lid on and plug it in. The machine does all the work for you.

We eat lots of yogurt. I love Greek yogurt but it is quite expensive so I’d love to make my own whenever I wanted it.

I love eating yogurt with fruit for breakfast. I have made it before on the stove and but this would be easier and better because I could make lots of different flavors!

I love yogurt and would really like to avoid all the additives in the store-bought kind.

I love making things I would normally buy from scratch! It is such a fun challenge. Also, I also stock up on yogurt each week. I eat it everyday!

Oh man I am so excited about this one. My kids would eat yogurt for every meal if I could afford it! I have wanted to try making my own yogurt for a long time and this is just what I need to get going. I love the idea of controlling all the ingredients and consistency.

I have wanted to make yogurt since I started eating more Indian and Greek food. A friend of mine makes her own for her curry and the homemade yogurt tastes so much better, and I really like the idea of controlling what is in the yogurt since I’m trying to get away from over-processed and preservative-packed foods : ) I’m most excited about the yogurt-maker because I am nervous about consistancy and the yogurt maker would take out the guesswork!

I have made yogurt in a crockpot. I am excited to try a yogurt maker- much easier than wraping beach towels around the crockpot and placing it in a cooler on the kitchen floor. I love to eat yogurt with a little brown sugar. it is amazing!

I already make my own yogurt, but I don’t have a yogurt maker. The yogurt maker seems like it’s a bit less work which means I get to eat more yogurt. Win-win!
