Super Bowl Dips

It’s Super Bowl time once again! Maybe you are an avid football fan and you’ll be cheering on your favorite tip while you dig in to some tasty super bowl snacks.

Or maybe you’re more like me and don’t really care who is playing as long as there’s good food to be enjoyed during the big game.

For me, going to a Super Bowl party is all about the food – and there are plenty of good Super Bowl recipes to be enjoyed – and hanging out with some friends.

Whether you’re watching the game with a crowd or settling in alone with the TV remote, delicious munchies are practically a Super Bowl requirement.

But, I think we can all agree that it’s not a game day party, Super Bowl or otherwise, without dips, right?

Tips for Super Bowl Dips

  • Serve a variety of dips: creamy dip, spicy, cheesy dips, mild, warm dips, cold dips, salsas, and more so everyone is able to find something they like.
  • Keep hot dips that are meant to be served warm in a slow cooker set to “warm,” so they stay fresh throughout the football game.
  • Cold dips can be kept fresh be nesting the bowl containing the dip in a larger bowl containing ice or frozen ice packs.
  • Mix rich dips alongside lighter options to balance the snacking throughout the party.
  • Include serving spoons with each dip so guests can scoop dip onto their plates rather than dipping directly into the serving containers.

Super Bowl Party Dip Ideas

Do you need a recipe for or something to scoop up with chips? Here are some of our favorite dips for Super Bowl. They are all game day approved, tested by the football fans and the food lovers so they’re sure to be a hit!

Cheese Dip Recipes for Super Bowl

Are dips filled with cheesy goodness your jam? Here are a few of our favorites to explore:

Queso Blanco Dip with Roasted Corn, Kale, and Tomatoes

Queso Blanco with Roasted Corn, Kale, and Tomatoes with tortilla chips is a perfect appetizer to enjoy while watching the Super Bowl, or any of your favorite sports on game day for that matter.

Caramelized Onion Bacon Blue Cheese Dip

Caramelized Onion Bacon Blue Cheese Dip is a revamped and homemade version of the classic onion dip. This dip has tons of flavor thanks to the addition of blue cheese and plenty of crumbled bacon.

Crock-Pot Queso con Carne

Game Day Crock-Pot Queso con Carne features gooey cheese combined with spicy meat, tomatoes, and plenty of tortilla chips for scooping.

Buffalo Blue Cheese Ball

This Buffalo Blue Cheese Ball features hot sauce, shredded chicken, celery, green onion, blue cheese, and chopped walnuts. A twist on the traditional cheese ball recipe.

Super Bowl Greek Yogurt Dips

Greek yogurt dips are the perfect snack to enjoy as simple appetizers for your game day party, especially if you're looking for healthier dips for Super Bowl snacks.

Greek Yogurt Pesto Dip

This simple Greek Yogurt Pesto Dip only requires 2 ingredients - Pesto and Greek Yogurt. Use it as a healthy dip for your favorite summertime grilled veggies.

I like to serve this easy dip recipe with Smokey Grilled Sweet Potato Wedges - they’re super simple to whip up and contain only 4 ingredients!

Tzatziki - Greek Yogurt and Cucumber Dip

I love this cucumber-y yogurt dip and I can’t believe I’ve never made it before I went to Greece bake in 2011! Tzatziki is great as an appetizer with toasted pita wedges and vegetables for dipping.

Learn how to make your own Whole Wheat Pita Chips if you don't want to pick up store bought to serve with this easy dip recipe.

Bean Dip Recipes for Super Bowl

Beans make great dip ingredients because they provide protein and fiber to round out the game day snack menu. Check out these bean based dips for Super Bowl party snacks.

Roasted Red Bell Pepper Hummus

Roasted Red Pepper Hummus is easy to make! Make sure you know How to Roast Peppers (it is really easy!), then after that it is mostly just pureeing ingredients together until smooth!

With this Roasted Red Pepper Hummus I served a variety of vegetables: grape tomatoes, yellow pepper, celery, and grilled whole wheat pita bread wedges.

Rosemary White Bean Artichoke Spinach Dip

Rosemary White Bean Artichoke Spinach Dip is a remake of the classic recipe so many know and love. In this recipe creamy white cannellini beans and rosemary pair perfectly with artichokes, fresh spinach, and cheese.

Roasted Salsa Verde Hummus

Classic hummus is transformed into this Roasted Salsa Verde Hummus with the addition of roasted poblano, jalapeño, tomatillo, onion, cilantro, and lime.

Black Bean Hummus

This black bean hummus is made with black beans instead of chickpeas, and is flavored with lime and cumin. This is a great dip to make for parties and potlucks!

Serve it with store bought tortilla chips, or make your own homemade baked tortilla chips.

Super Bowl Salsa Recipes

You can never go wrong with homemade salsa and a bag of chips! Salsa is one of my all time favorite dips to snack on. Here are a few favorite recipes:

Tomato Mango Salsa

This Fresh Tomato Mango Salsa is a great way to enjoy a sweeter twist on a classic chunky fresh salsa. Serve this recipe for mango salsa with tomato as an appetizer or snack with tortilla chips or try one of the fun main dish serving suggestions I'm sharing in the post.

Fresh Zucchini Corn Salsa

Fresh Zucchini Corn Salsa would make a great appetizer or snack, but with the added protein from the black beans, it also makes a perfect light and healthy lunch.

Pomegranate Winter Salsa

Pomegranate Salsa is the perfect salsa recipe to make if you are craving fresh salsa in the winter.

Strawberry Mango Salsa

In this strawberry mango salsa, the juicy strawberries and mangos pair really well with the heat of the jalapeño, hint of lime, onion and cilantro.

Easy Roasted Salsa Verde

This easy roasted salsa verde takes just a few minutes to prep once you've roasted the veggies. It's loaded with tomatillos, jalapeno, poblano, onion, and garlic, plus plenty of cilantro and lime.

Roasted Salsa Verde is a really easy green salsa dip to serve with tortilla chips.

Restaurant Style Salsa

You won't believe how easy it is to make Restaurant Style Salsa at home! This is one of our favorite super easy homemade salsa recipes to make.

It can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator, but if you want to keep this restaurant style salsa on hand as a pantry staple year round, read my post about canning restaurant style salsa.

You'll have this simple game day dip stashed away for any time you need it!

Roasted Cranberry Salsa

Cranberries don't have to be just for Thanksgiving and Christmas. This Roasted Cranberry Salsa is a tasty, colorful dip recipe for serving at parties and as a game day appetizer.

Roasted fresh cranberries pair perfectly with the traditional elements of salsa - jalapeño, cilantro, onion, and lime.

Take it a step further and spread this over a block of cream cheese for a cheesy, creamy, fruity, and spicy game day dip.

Super Bowl Avocado Dips

Who doesn't love guacamole? It is such and easy dip recipe to serve and is always a crowd pleaser. From classic guacamole to something with a modern twist, I've got you covered here:

5 Minute Basic Guacamole

If you want Perfect Guacamole for your Super Bowl snacks, but you don't want to get complicated, this 5 Minute Basic Guacamole is a great option!

This game day guacamole recipe features the delicious flavors of red onion, jalapeño, garlic, cilantro, and fresh lime juice paired with ripe, mashed avocados. Its simple and basic, but oh so delicious!

Tomato Avocado Corn Dip

This Tomato Avocado Corn Dip is perfect for scooping up with chips and super fresh tasting!

Roasted Tomatillo Guacamole

Guacamole is the ultimate game day appetizer. In this Roasted Tomatillo Guacamole, I decided to combine two of my favorite things: Guacamole and Salsa Verde.

For a richer flavor in the salsa verde recipe, I roast the tomatillos and poblano before preparing the salsa verde.

What to Serve with Super Bowl Dips

Now that you have the best game day dip recipes all lined up, you’ll need to figure out what you’re going to serve alongside them. Here are some of my favorite ideas for your Super Bowl spread:

  • Pita Chips – pair well with hummus, a delicious dip made in the food processor with garbanzo beans (chickpeas), tahini, olive oil, garlic, and other seasonings.
  • Potato Chips – I love a crunchy, kettle cooked potato chip for scooping up caramelized onion dip.
  • Tortilla Chips – a bag of your favorite tortilla chips is always perfect to serve alongside queso dip, salsas, guacamole, and more
  • Baguette Slices – slice, toasted baguette is a crowd favorite served alongside artichoke dip or spinach dip. It is sturdy enough to scoop this thick, chunky dip.
  • Fresh Vegetables – brightly colored, crisp veggies, pair well with Greek yogurt our sour cream dip, and they offer something for those searching the table of Super Bowl snacks for something lighter.
  • French Fries – homemade french fries work great for a game day party when served with aioli or fry sauces.
